TLM packaging machine doubles the infeed and packing rate
The packaging line comprising five sub-machines is configured with the maximum performance for the French company Elle & Vire. In the sub-machines cartons are errected and products grouped, then cartons are loaded and closed.
F2 robots place the packets of butter in layers into the cartons.
F4 robots pick up the product groups and place them beside the cartons on the continuously moving Transmoduls.
The Schubert line, replacing two older machines, packs impressive 1,000 single-portion butter packets per minute.
A plus point is the careful product handling: as the butter packets are very soft, the robotic handling is extremely gentle.

At Elle & Vire, a Schubert line packs 1,000 single-portion butter packets per minute.
One in place of two: at Elle & Vire, the packaging machine replaces two older machines, as Schubert’s packaging specialists were able to double the infeed and packing rate with the same space available. In addition, the new line can be flexibly used for types of packaging that previously were not possible. It can be used to produce packs with 2 x 3, 2 x 4 and 2 x 5 products per layer. The butter packets can be oriented lengthwise or crosswise in the carton.

How does the solution meet the requirement?
Space-saving packaging system with maximum output
Schubert developed the packaging system with its five sub-machines to provide the maximum output for Elle & Vire. In the sub-machines cartons are erected and products grouped, then cartons are loaded and closed. A plus point is the careful product handling: as the butter packets are very soft, the robotic handling is extremely gentle.

Carefully packed
The butter packets are fed in four lanes from two upstream machines towards the packaging line. At a temperature of approx. 15°C, the butter is very soft and therefore needs to be handled with care. F4 robot arms gently group the packets on the Transmoduls. Depending on the pack size, groups of three, four or five products are formed. Subsequently two F2 robots place the pre-grouped butter packets layer by layer into the cartons, also positioned on the Transmodul.
